CASE STUDY:
Contact Exchange System
CHALLENGE:
JLD Technology wanted to develop a Web-based system that would encourage business relations between executives from different industries and facilitate sharing of contacts.
The main challenge of implementing this unique concept was managing the contacts and introducing a credit system that would ensure equal contribution from all registered users. It was equally important to develop a system that would efficiently co-ordinate requests for contact introduction and the user responses to these requests.
RESPONSE:
JLD Technology developed the Contact Exchange System with three types of users - root admin, group admin and the basic user. All users can add/modify/delete their contacts, which are divided into two categories - ‘Contact only Details’ and ‘Introduction Contacts’.
The system functions on a set of rules that governs the requests for introductions, responses to these requests and number of requests allowed per month. The other important feature is the one-to-one credits system that credits or debits points, depending on the number of contacts introduced or requests for introduction made. Facilities to email a requesting user/group member(s) have also been incorporated into the system.
The group admin is a user who has additional rights for managing a group. The root admin can modify and delete users, add groups, designate a group admin and view user activities.
