Sephora Japan Retail Ecommerce Website
CUSTOMER PROFILE :
Sephora is the leading chain of perfume and cosmetics stores in France and the second largest in Europe. The company has 5 main divisions - Wines & Spirits, Fashion & Leather Goods, Fragrances & Cosmetics, Selective Retailing, Watches & Jewelry.
CHALLENGE:
Sephora AAP Japan K.K. needed a Retail Ecommerce Web site wherein the users would be allowed to view the Sephora AAP Japan K.K. promotions/events and new products. The goal of the project was to allow the Sephora admin to search/add/modify/archive/test products, promotions or events.
The site would also allow the Sephora admin to send newsletters to the registered users of the site.
RESPONSE:
As part of the first phase of the project, JLD Technology researched Sephora AAP Japan K.K.’s requirements and developed the new Retail Ecommerce Web site in Japanese and English.
JLD Technology also developed the necessary functionality for easy administration and maintenance of the site.
As the Sephora Japan Retail Ecommerce Web site was bilingual, JLD Technology developed the system using the double-byte character set required for the Japanese language, which has many characters. The double byte character set uses 16-bit characters instead of 8-bit characters, and expands the possible number of combinations of 1s and 0s from 256 to 65,536.
