Toyota F1 Japanese Website
CUSTOMER PROFILE :
Toyota Motor Corporation is the world's third largest manufacturer of automobiles in unit sales and in net sales. It is the largest Japanese automotive manufacturer, producing more than 5.5 million vehicles per year, equivalent to one every six seconds.
CHALLENGE:
Toyota Motor Corporation had an existing English Web site, which it wanted to duplicate in Japanese. The project would involve duplicating the entire English Web site to display dynamic and static Japanese content.
The main challenge for JLD Technology was to change the backend code to support Japanese data.
RESPONSE:
JLD Technology studied the Toyota F1 English Web site and re-worked the backend coding to support Japanese data. This was only part of the solution. The display of dynamic Japanese data on the Japanese Web site required the development of the Japanese Content and Marketing sections within the existing Content Management System.
JLD Technology developed the code that allows the Japanese translator to login to the Content Management System. The Content section allows the Japanese translator to view and translate approved English text in Japanese.
The Japanese translator can use the Marketing section to add new news tickers, section messages and promotions for the Japanese Web site and update the existing Japanese text as required.
